Filming & Editing

Do you need a film making? I’m available for hire to capture and edit footage, or create motion graphics and animation, all through the use of professional equipment and software.

I have a decade of freelance experience in responding to a diverse range of briefs from clients including cultural organisations, charities, events companies, musicians and individual artists. I make short documentaries and promotional films, trailers, social media clips and visuals for live performance or art installations.

I can operate as a one-man-band and cover all aspects of production, or draw upon a network of collaborators and crew, depending on the needs of your project.

In terms of software, I frequently use: Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Dragonframe 4 and Q Lab.

Bespoke Film Mentoring

Ever fancied having a go at filmmaking? Whether you’re interested in the technical aspects of cinematography and editing or visual storytelling more generally, I’m open to tailoring a series of sessions which respond to what you wish to explore.

I offer film mentoring sessions for both individuals on a 1:1 basis and for small groups. My approach is to ‘meet you where you’re at’ and to balance being led by your interests and experience and providing creative exercises to expand your skill-set. I’m keen for us to explore creativity through play together with the resources that you have to hand.

I have facilitated sessions (both live and remotely via Zoom) within the creative learning programmes of arts organisations, privately in a home education environment and most recently within the NHS Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services.

Workshops & Participatory Projects

I have worked extensively as a freelance creative practitioner in North West England, delivering participatory projects on a local and national scale. I am currently fascinated by the construction of identity and the role of playfulness within creativity. Much of my work involves co-creating devised theatre performances as part of the youth and community-engagement programmes of arts organisations. Some of the communities I have collaborated with include people living with dementia and their carers, those experiencing homelessness and vulnerable young people.

I deliver one-off workshops or longer-term projects in devising live performance, drawing upon drama games, physical theatre techniques, improvisation and creative writing.

I also offer facilitation in film-making and stop-motion animation, covering story-crafting, pre-production, shooting and post-production.

My approach as a workshop facilitator aims to be flexible, inclusive and person-led, with sessions characterised by listening and responding to whoever I work with and their needs.
